IR News: 2018 Repsol Road Race Championship Starts in Meycauayan

Known to be a good venue of motorcycle races, the Malhacan Commercial Complex in Meycauayan, Bulacan witnessed another thrilling race event as Sonicboom Motorsports held the first round of the 2018 Repsol Road Race Championship there last March 4.

Some of the prominent underbone and scooter riders joined the event together with up and coming riders and lots of young guns in the pocketbike category. Many racers from the province of Bulacan participated at the event.

Spectators got to watch race classes featuring exciting clashes among riders on board powerful race bikes. There were underbone and scooter classes for beginner/novice and intermediate/expert riders, underbone and scooter club races, pocketbike races for kids and adults and stock race categories.

Winners at the first round were Jonathan Galang (Pocketbike Kids Prefinal), Edhanz Gloria (Pocketbike Kids Final), Memel Natividad (Special AT category), Joren Santiago (Penguin All Bulacan), Anthony Cañete (AT Fi), Kerwin Chang (115 Underbone Superstock), Jakob Sablaya (160 Automatic Beginner/Novice), Ton Farin (150 Underbone Beginner/Novice), John Michael Josef (Team Jee Club Race), Dale Malihan (Penguin Underbone), Garry Tapiador (Underbone Club Race), John Emerson Inguito (150 Underbone Open/Expert), Alexander Diaz (Pocketbike Adults), Ellijah Olayvar (160 Automatic Expert) and Sean Barcial (Automatic Club Race).
