Phoenix Cyclomax MDPPA-IR Cup by Denso Rd 2 Results

A total of 77 entries from the seven leading manufacturers and leading private teams took part in Round 2 of the series last June 25 at the Boomland Kart Track in Pasay City. Local fans were finally able to watch their racing idols from Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, MCX, Motostar, Kymco and Yamaha. The racing format was quick, intense and exciting as the riders tried to qualify for the final top six.

Team Honda Motoworld Racing composed of six riders from Cebu flew in to participate and compete in Manila for the first time. Riders Caneda and Requilme ruled the Underbone and Automatic Fun Club Races. In addition, Honda Philippines Inc. President Mr. Katsuhisa Yoda was there to watch their team compete.

Team Suzuki came away with three victories which included the 115 Open and Open class won by star rider John Lery Enriquez and the Automatic Open won by Ivan Santiago.

Meanwhile, Team MDR’s Marcko Deliganzo and team mate J.E Inguito took a 1-3 finish in the Beg/Nov 115 Open category. Splitting them was another young gun Tracy Gaddi.

Other star riders who saw action in this unique IR Cup race format were Anthony Roman, Dashi Watanabe, Tracy Soyangco, Mark Chua, Mimi Doblada, Jeff Chan, Jeff Teopengco, Casey Ng, Mark Indiongco, Michael Altamira, Victor Laude, Benjo Mendoza and Rod Chua.

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines’ Brand and Marketing Manager Mr. Jay Delloso and DENSO’s Mr. Norman Gomez were present and were happy about the success of the event which drew a record number of participants.

The 2010 PHOENIX CYCLOMAX MDPPA-IR CUP Series Presented by Denso Spark Plugs is also in partnership with Imarflex Motorcycle Batteries, Uratex,Yellow Cab Pizza, MotorcyclePhilippines.com, Stoplight TV, The Racingline TV and Motorsiklo Xclusibo Radio. This event is organized by the Motorcycle Development Program Participant Association (MDPPA) and InsideRACING Magazine. Proceeds of these events will go the MDPPA’s 2010 Road Safety Programs that will promote and train riders in safety riding.

The next round of the series is on July 25. Race on the Track, Not on the Streets!
