Waiting for victory, Team Suzuki Pilipinas poses at the Carmona Race Track last November 27, 2011.

Once again, Team Suzuki Pilipinas/Blue Bandits bagged the lion’s share of places and recognitions at the 5th Annual InsideRACING Grand Prix (IRGP5) held at the historic Carmona Race Track in Cavite recently.

The pioneering local race event for underbone motorcycles was well-participated by four manufacturer teams, including Suzuki, and 25 privately-owned squads – all vying for an unparalleled two-wheel glory.

John Lery Enriquez of Team Suzuki Pilipinas easily snatched the championship and the first runner up trophies in two different divisions, namely the Castrol Power1 130 GP Class using a modified Suzuki Smash and the Denso Spark Plugs AT GP via a customized Suzuki Skydrive.

Team Suzuki’s John Emerson Inguito also seized the third place in the Castrol Power1 AT Trophy. Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH), the only integrated automotive and motorcycle company in the country, fluently bagged three Manufacturer’s Award in all of the aforementioned divisions.

Suzuki Motortrade John Allen Mendez also emerged as the champion in the Top 1 Oil Juniors Trophy division using a Suzuki Smash 115.

According to Eiji Kobayashi, Suzuki Philippines General Manager for Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Division, “The most successful team in the IGRP4 kept its word of coming up with even better performances and an even improved racing program. Despite our limited time for bike preparation and practice at the race track, we have met our expectations in IRGP5.”

He adds, “This feat is not possible without the tremendous efforts of the management, the racers, and practically everyone behind the wheels.”

SPH President Satoshi Uchida stressed that, “Team Suzuki Pilipinas firmly believes that part of the full understanding of motorcycle-riding or any vehicle is that safety should always come first.”

Uchida furthers,”We are one with IGRP in celebrating our passion for the sport and in developing talents from the grassroots level. Soon, I see Filipino riders take the center stage in this sporting event. ”

The Team Suzuki Pilipinas/Blue Bandits is sponsored by Elf. Denso, Yoshimura, SSS/Excel Asia, Motoworld and YRS.
