What a race for McKinley Kyle Paz in the FIM Intercontinental Games Supersport 300 Race 1!
He battled fiercely onboard his Team Asia Yamaha R3 for a top 5 or even a podium finish for the whole race!
Paz started from an impressive P10 out more than 20 of the best SuperSport 300 riders in the World including his FIM Asia teammate and reigning WSSP300 World Champion. He made a good start and was always in the lead group throughout the long race. The field was the most competitive grid ever.
He was even up to P2 for a moment with just 3 laps to go. With his teammate fighting for the win, Paz had a good chance of joining him at the podium or at least a top 4 that would give Team Asia a great points haul.
Sadly, Paz under heavy braking in a attempt for the podium, crashed on the very last corner when he made contact with another rider. He did manage to remount and recover to P12 and contribute to Team FIM Asia’s first place in the Continent Standings beating no less than FIM Europe.
But up until then, Paz was so impressive and showing that he can race at the front with the best in the world and fight for a podium given equal machinery! Thank you FIM and Yamaha for allowing riders to compete at this high international level on EQUAL bike and tires!
While watching the feed, we have never been so proud and excited to see a Filipino in the lead pack for the whole race! With the race commentators now familiar with his name!
Not the ending we want, but we are so proud of you McKinley Kyle Paz! Looking forward to Race 2. Hope Kyle gets a chance to race in World SSP300 soon!
