With the local assembly of the the KTM 790 Duke and KTM 790 Adventure here in the Philippines, the price have come down to very reasonable levels.

When it was introduced last year, the 790 Duke with its 799cc LC8 parallel twin engine created a big stir among riding enthusiasts because of its power to weight ratio and precise razor sharp handling.

However, with its lofty CBU price tag, only very few could actually afford them.

But that all changed this year whem KAMMI announced the local manufacture of both variants which brought the price levels down to massively. Delivery of the first units will actually start this October.

With this in mind, a 3rd or a 4th variant of the 800cc platform will be good to expand the overall volume production and ensure that prices will remain competitive.

While a sportbike RC8 version is a no-brainer for KTM considering the platform’s power to weight ratio and scalpel like handling, another naked bike won’t hurt.

A few months ago, just before the local assembly of the 790’s was officially announced, a modern Café Racer Concept was developed by SKK Auto Design using the 790 as the base.

Designed by  Sreejith Krishnan Kunjappan, the  concept is unique, full of KTM styling DNA and actually looks like it came from the Mattighofen factory!

Of course, if it will be locally produced it could be priced competitively as well.

Do you like it?
