A number of injuries and steel inside his body manifests the 15-year colorful racing career of Fritsy Claveria. Like a solider hardened and sharpened through years of battle, the man from Valenzuela is proud and thankful for more than a decade of pursuing his passion and living his dream. His scars, pain, defeats, trophies, victories and everything are all cherished by the seasoned rider who is now a highly regarded racing coach.
Fritsy Claveria started racing in 2009 and through the years has achieved a lot in motorcycle racing. Among his feats include representing the country in the Yamaha ASEAN Cup held in Indonesia in 2014 and victories in enduro cross, one make races, backbone and supersport races.
In 2019, he placed third in the IRGPXIII MotoIR1 GP race and was the first-runner up in the MotoIR1 category of the MotoIR Championship series that year.
2022 was a superb year for Claveria as he bagged multiple titles. He was crowned IRGPXIV MotoIR1 GP Champion, KTM RC Cup 390 GP and +390 GP Champion, MotoIR Championship Super Sports 300 GP Champion and he ended the year by winning the IRGPV Super Sport Grand Prix.
Claveria had a big crash in April 2023 during one of the MotoIR rounds but despite his injury, he bagged the championship title in the KTM RC Cup 390 GP class again and even placed third in the IRGPXVI Super Sport Grand Prix race in December that year.
Aside from soaring in his racing career, Claveria found another passion, and that is teaching aspiring racers the proper riding and racing techniques and honing their skills. Since 2021, many riders and racers have learned through his Claveria Riding Academy where lessons and track days were held mostly at Tarlac Circuit Hill. Imparting his knowledge and training next generation of racers proved to be his calling and he also established a strong racing team. His legacy lives on and his daughter Queenie Claveria is also making her mark in the motorcycle racing industry. A champion rider as well, Queenie takes on the same path as his father and has also represented the country internationally.
In 2024, Claveria participated in the MotoIR Championship Super Sport Bike Masters category. He also raced in the Super Sport Bike Grand Prix class of the IRGPXVII and finished in P7 in the highly competitive grid.
Finally on December 4, the now 42-year-old announced his retirement from racing. He will now focus in his Claveria Riding Academy and his business and gave advice to riders who dream of establishing a racing career.
“Racing for me ends here. I don’t have anything to prove anymore and I was able to fulfill my racing dream. Despite having many injuries and even steel inside my body, I have no regrets because I want and love this sport and I am happy with the things I have achieved with the help of my sponsors through the years. Now, I will focus in my business and the Claveria Riding Academy which aims to help my fellow riders who want to learn and have the same dream as mine when I started racing. Don’t give up and continue pursuing your dreams until you reach it! Next year I will focus in my CRA students and our racing team,” shared Fritsy.
He also expressed his gratitude to SEC Motosupply and its top honchos Mr. Stephen Secosana and Mr. Bryan Secosana, S-OIL SEVEN Philippines, Aceking Apparel & Embroidery, ApexSports Fitness Center, SPRS Racing Sports Philippines, Claveria Riding Academy, 137 Performance Fork Oil, InsideRACING Magazine, National Motorcycle Sports & Safety Association , USRA, Valenzuela City, Cleanfuel Motocross Park and his comrade Ariel Beato Mirasol.
