As part of the 2018 Hamaka Festival last weekend in Taytay, those who answered the call in the 2nd staging of the Torque ADV Challenge presented by Petron displayed versatility, control, and mastery of their bikes – skills needed when going out on an adventure ride, but also a requirement in attempting to conquer a challenge like this one.Maximum Torque put together a course that is not just challenging, but fun as well as the goal was to cater to all rider skill-levels. The 2nd Maximum TORQUE ADV Challenge Presented by Petron was competed by highly skilled riders on four different brands of adventure motorcycles. They conqueredthe different obstacles of the event and showcased great riding, handling and precision skills. Congratulations Mr. Bobby Orbe (01) on a Suzuki V-Strom 1000, Mr. Rey Relativo (15) on a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, Mr. Jacob Orbe (94) on a BMW F800 GS and Mr. Allan Reyes (21) on a Kawasaki Versys 650.

In the Lightweight Class, first timer Jacob Orbe on a BMW F800 GS dominated and took home the title. The former motocross star adjusted well to the difficult challenges in the track. Last year’s champ Allan Reyes on a Kawasaki Versys 650, came just a few points short of defending his title. But still it was a good result and he ended up in 2nd place. The legendary Rey Relativo meanwhile, on his Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, took home the final podium spot and got 3rd place. Mr. Bobby Orbe, representing Wheeltek and riding his Suzuki V-Strom 1000, improved on his podium finish last year to win the Heavyweight Class this year. In the Open Class, it was Jacob Orbe once again. Rey Relativo and Allan Reyes completed the podium spots, respectively. So all in all, the father and son Orbe tandem dominated this event, in what serves as the opening leg for this season series supported by Petron.

The 2nd staging of the Torque ADV Challenge proved to be a success and hopefully there will be more riders who will engage in a fun, exciting, and adventurous challenge such as this as the season progresses as this is now a full-fledged series to occupy the schedules of our adventure riders this year.
