4S1M-Yamaha’s Victorious Campaign at IRGPXI

4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team thrilled the crowd with a finishing victory – dominating with a total of four championship cups, as they battle neck-and-neck with top riders of Philippine motorsports at the prestigious 11th InsideRACING Grand Prix last November 17-19, 2017. Audience were put on the edge of their seats as veteran riders Herbert Lopez, John Emerson Inguito, Jeff Teopengco and Mark Djereck Ondillo maneuvered full-force through the Carmona Racing Circuit.

Warm-ups and time trial qualifications took place for the first two days of the competition. Despite the scorching heat of the sun, the 4S1M-Yamaha riders blazed through the racetrack, getting a feel of the twists and turns, acquiring good position results for the race day itself. “It’s good that at this stage, they’ll have an idea of the kind of track they’ll be driving on. It’s important for them to get the feel of it, to familiarize themselves on how to maneuver through it,” said Joji Sanvictores, Chief Mechanic of 4S1M.

On the day of the race, the hot weather did not stop motorsports fans to gather by the bleachers, waiting for their favorite rider to take on the racetrack. And they were definitely not disappointed. 4S1M’s team captain, Herbert “The Golden Boy” Lopez, proved once more that he is a top gun to beat in the tight race of the DENSO Spark Plugs MotoIR GP category. Riding his well-calibrated Yamaha R15, Lopez maneuvered expertly through the 20-lap race, not losing the momentum until finishing first place. John Emerson “The Hitman” Inguito, riding also his Yamaha R15, followed suit on second place for the same category. Inguito showed grit and determination as he pulled off being third place then snatching second at the last few laps during the MotoIR race. For the Unioil Juniors Elite Trophy 150 UB category, Inguito secured third place aboard his Yamaha Sniper King, demonstrating his excellent motorbike skills on the track despite experiencing a predicament in the YSS Suspension Master Trophy Open UB.

Jeff Teopengco added another win for the 4S1M team as he swept through the Carmona Race Track, dominating in the DENSO Spark Plugs MotoIR2 category. Teopengco, riding his finely-tuned Yamaha R15, maintained pole position throughout the race; having an early lead and displaying brilliant maneuvering expertise. Meanwhile, Mark Djereck Ondillo displayed a satisfying performance in the 160 Automatic novice and 130 Automatic novice categories on board his 130cc and 160cc Yamaha Mio.

“We are very proud of what the riders and the team have accomplished. All our hard work paid off,” Team Manager Ronald Uy expressed.

“I am very happy that I won the race, considering the fact that I am against other skilled racers,” Inguito shared.

Teopengco said that he was satisfied with the outcome of the race, “I am really happy I was able to climb that top spot in the podium at the IRGP again after years of trying,” he added.
