The NCY Suntal JDO Racing Team managed by JDO Motorcycle Kingdom proprietor Mr. Jonathan Oteyza from Pasig is only less than a year old. The name Oteyza maybe new to most of the racing community, but those that have been racing for more than a decade knows that Oteyza was one of the pioneers in local motorcycle racing, having managed Team Suzuki since the early 2000 until the first IRGP in 2007. The team maybe new but the owner is already a seasoned veteran.

Meanwhile, the team owner, Suntal Philippines and NCY Taiwan, are long time players in the industry. Suntal is already more than 50 years in the local motorcycle business in the Philippines while NCY is an established and leading manufacturer of scooter performance parts in Taiwan that has been in the market for decades. Suntal Philippines is giving local scooter enthusiasts another proven option when it comes to making their scooter perform better.

The team’s first big race was in the recent Alpinestar IRGPXIV with novice rider Edcel Corpuz. They managed to qualify second fastest during QTT held in Carmona. In the finalnrace in Tarlac, Corpuz was battling for the lead when he crashed.

In less than 2 monts after that, the team has already shown their potential with wins and podiums in the MotoIR and Motul Super Series Nationals.

In the MotoIR AT SP class , Corpuz was a winner in Tarlac and runner up in Porac. He was also second in the Maxi GP SP in Porac. At the Motul Super Series Tarlac GP he was again 2nd in Super Scooter SP and a winner in the Super Maxi SP classes.

Last Sunday at the Cavite IR Speedrome in Silang, he finally achieved a double victory by winning both the Motul Super Scooter SP on his Yamaha Mio and the Motul Super Maxi SP on his Yamaha Aerox. Moreover, he achieved it using different tire brands, Pirelli for his Mio and FDR for his Aerox.
