After dominating the Philippine Women’s National Championship races in 2023, Queenie Claveria proudly represented the country in the 2024 FIM Asia Women’s Cup of Circuit Racing held from August 31-September 1, 2024 at Thailand Circuit Nakornchaisri. It was held together with the final round of the R2M Thailand SuperBikes 2024. The race weekend was organized by R2M Sport Asia.
The daughter of veteran racer Fritsy Claveria, Queenie has also made her mark in the local racing industry with numerous wins and championship titles in 2022 and 2023. In her first international race, Queenie showed determination and consistency despite the tough race weekend. She considers the experience already a win for her as she was able to compete with other top female riders from different Asian countries.
“First international race was so good! Competing with other top Asian riders is a win. It’s truly one of the books. First day was so hard. My lap time was 1.57 high and had difficulties with the track and bike, but we managed it and placed P6 during qualifying and Race 1 and Race 2. My fastest lap time was 1.47.3 which is a very good result for me. It is really a good experience,” said Queenie in her Faceook post.
Accompanying Queenie during the race weekend was her proud father Fritsy, NAMSSA’s Mr. Arthur Valdez, and USRA’s Mr. Duds Lumague. Present at the event was FIM Asia President Mr. Macky Carapiet. Top female riders from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, India, China, Iran, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Nepal and Philippines participated in the 2024 FIM Asia Women’s Cup of Circuit Racing. They raced on board GPX Demon GR200R race bikes.
“Thank you Lord for all of the blessings you gave despite the difficulties. To my big bosses, sponsors, my family and friends who supported me, thank you for believing in me! Even though I did not win, I’m still a winner because of your support! Thank you to InsideRACING, NAMSSA Philippines, USRA, Mr. Duds Lumague, Mr. Macky Carapiet and Mr. Arthur Valdez for this opportunity and of course to my coach/father for the advices and support. It was a very tough but fun races and days in Thailand and I met a lot of friends. Special thanks to S-Oil Thailand for supporting us! Thankyou S-Oil Philippines, Ferreras family, Tita Lyn, and Clyde for assisting and helping me,” shared Queenie.
