Worth the Wait! Kervie Bergania and TWPO Project Fi Cherish Maiden IRGP Win

Winning in the prestigious InsideRACING Grand Prix is a dream for many Filipino racers and that dream became a reality for Kervie Bergania at the Alpinestars IRGPXVI.

2023 was indeed Bergania’s year. The rider from Meycauayan, Bulacan bagged championship titles in the MotoIR and Motul Super Series and culminated the year with an outstanding performance in IRGPXVI. All these were possible with the solid support of his TWPO Project Fi racing team.

Bergania’s IRGPXVI campaign was indeed impeccable. He started off by getting the pole position in the Motoworld Limited Underbone Trophy class battled by novice and beginner racers. With eyes set only on the goal to win, Bergania showed his A-game and dominated the 15-lap race and even submitted the best lap time. With their victorious performance, TWPO Project Fi got the Best Team Award and Ivan Santiago and Arnold Galzote received the Best Mechanic award from JTEKT. It was Bergania’s first IRGP title and he did it in dominant fashion, a remarkable feat which also manifested the caliber of his team.

Rain del Mundo of RnD racing team finished second while Dad’s Garage 4S1M racer Nedy Duran crossed the finish line third. Duran was also the Fastest Underbone Beginner rider in IRGPXVI.

Fourth placer was Roger Solis of Dad’s Garage 4S1M while Jaycob Cabahug of Gulf 323 who came all the way from Cebu finished in fifth place. Duldog x VMAN racing team’s John Paul Domingo placed sixth followed by Bergania’s younger brother and teammate Rand Erwin and Promax Aspira Motostrada WonderLube rider Kevin Balinang. Ninth to finish the race was Joshua Christopher Ancheta of SEC Motosupply while Ferreras racing team’s Steven Clyde Ferreras placed tenth. Eleventh to cross the finish line was Roberto Ferrer III of ZSR 808 Scarborough Boats Perena Axor. Last Minute Racing Team’s Ivan Austria placed twelfth while Trahvys Paralejas of Faito KOSO Denoo DE60 ended up in thirteenth place. Not able to finish the race were Jonher Espina of Gulf 323, Shan Espedilla of Dad’s Garage 4S1M, Lieric dela Viña of TWPO Project Fi and Russel Jay Jarlego of ADM Racing Team.

Yamaha Motor Philippines was the winner of the MDAP Manufacturer’s Award in the Motoworld Limited Underbone Trophy class of the IRGPXVI.
