From MotoIR Youth Cup to MSBK.
Less than 2 yrs after his MotoIR Youth Cup Tryouts in Malolos last February 2023 and learning how to operate a manual clutch for the first time, Carlsen Solis of Dad’s Garage 4S1M Racing Team will now become a full time International racer starting this December.
14-year-old Solis will join the last round of the 2024 Malaysian Superbike Series (MSBK) in the 250cc class racing a Honda CBR250RR. He will then race the series full time in 2025! He and his team will become the first Filipino rider and team to compete in MSBK.
“Please support me as I’ve been entrusted to race as a wildcard this coming December 13-15 in Round 4 of the Malaysia Super Bike Championship’s 250 class B. Also, this will serve as my warm-up as I will prepare to compete full season next year. Join us and be part of history as the first Filipino Team to compete in MSBK”, said Carlsen.
Carlsen started racing only in 2023 when he was successfully chosen as a Junior rider in the Motul MotoIR Youth Cup. By end of the season, he became a frontrunner, winning races and finishing second overall in his class and eventually landed on the IRGP podium on his first try.
In 2024, he raced both in the MotoIR SuperSport (SSP) and Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup. He became champion in the MotoIR SSP class and was a close runner-up in the Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup.
The Dad’s Garage 4S1M rider finished third in both his SSP and SSBK SP race classes in IRGPXVII.
