After a remarkable stint at the 2025 Moto4 Asia Cup wherein he became the first Filipino to not just win one race but two races and eventually placed third overall in the series, Daquigan is set to conquer the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup this year. The Road to MotoGP continues for him, indeed getting closer to the dream.

Joining Daquigan in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is 2025 Moto4 Asia Cup overall champion Ryota Ogiwara from Japan. Both riders were selected by Dorna to take the next step on the Road to MotoGP. Contested by young, up-and-coming motorcycle riders, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup uses KTM RC 250 R race bikes with races held in Europe. Famous alumni of the series include  Johann Zarco, Brad Binder, Lorenzo Savadori, Joan Mir, Jorge Martín, Enea Bastianini, Ai Ogura Pedro Acosta and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu.

Provisional Calendar

Aside from his Moto4 Asia Cup campaign, Daquigan also competed in the European Talent Cup in 2025 and in one round of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Prior to his impressive international performances, Daquigan dominated the Super Sport Bike GP class of the 2024 MotoIR Championship and 17th InsideRACING Grand Prix. The 16-year-old indeed has gone a long way since starting his racing career in the Daijiro Cup in Japan as well as participating in the MotoIR3 races organized by InsideRACING.

Congratulations Fonsi and the best of luck and safety in your 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup campaign!
