A Decade of Victory and Racing Excellence for Yamaha PH

Yamaha racers, sponsors and members of the media were gathered by Yamaha Motor Philippines at KPub in Tiendesitas celebrate a successful 2019 racing season as well as the manufacturer’s victorious decade in racing.

The program started with a tribute to the late great Amber Garcia Torres who will always be a part of Yamaha racing. Present to receive the award was Amber’s father Mitchell Torres.

Yamaha Motor Philippines’ President Mr. Hiroshi Koike, Marketing Section Senior Manager Mr. Ryan Jude Camus and Motorsports Safety and Promotion Supervisor Mr. Jordan Cornista handed out the awards. Recognized were the Yamaha supported teams and riders in circuit, off-road and road racing, stunt riders as well as the top participants in the Yamaha Sniper 150 National Championship. Yamaha riders who achieved feats in different race events including the national underbone and scooter series, the Super Series Nationwide Championships and the Thirteenth InsideRACING Grand Prix were acknowledged. Yamaha has been dominating the IRGP for years now and the Manufacturers’ Award of the celebrated event.

Celebrated of course was the UMA Racing-Yamaha Philippines historic win in the Underbone 150 class of the Asia Road Racing Championship wherein McKinley Kyle Paz took the overall championship title while teammate Masato Fernando placed sixth overall. The two raced in the series using Yamaha Sniper race bikes.

To the delight of everyone, it was also announced that McKinley Kyle Paz, because of his remarkable performance, is now moving up to the Supersports 600 class of the ARRC. Paz will race this year using the Yamaha YZF-R6. Masato Fernando will still race in the Underbone 150 class this 2020 and Yamaha Motor Philippines presented the riders who are part of the selection pool wherein Fernando’s teammate will be determined.

Yamaha also acknowledged their sponsors and partners in their racing activities and in the Yamaha GP. Fun games and raffles were also held and it was a great night indeed.
