Currently 5th in the point standings after two rounds, the Filipino pride had impressive Round 3 practice sessions wherein he finished Free Practice 1 in P2 and ended up at P6 in Free Practice 2 wherein he tried a new setup and majority of the ATC riders improved and had faster lap times.

Qualifying held on August 2 saw Daquigan getting P7 and will start at the third row of the 21-rider Asia Talent Cup grid. Race 1 and Race 2 will be held on August 3.

It is now Fonsi’s second year in the ATC. He finished 9th overall out of 26 riders in the 2024 season, consistently scoring points and finishing inside the top 10 in 12 races. In local racing, he was a MotoIR and IRGP SSBK champion in 2024 and is greatly supported by Honda Philippines.

Since 2014, the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup is one of the biggest and most successful paths on the Road to MotoGP. Competitors of the series which are between 14 and 17 years old race alongside MotoGP for most of the rounds of the competition. Comprised of two races, each ATC round has points system mirroring that of MotoGP. Riders compete using identical ATC-liveries Honda NSF250R Moto3 machines. Run by MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports as part of their world-leading Road to MotoGP initiative, the ATC provides an opportunity for the most talented young riders in Asia and Oceania to race and learn.
