Third round of the 2025 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC) saw Alfonsi Daquigan determined as ever to deliver a podium finish for the Philippines. The Filipino once again persevered and even had P1 in multiple laps at the two races of the ATC in Sepang, Malaysia last August 3.

Alfonsi, the 2024 MotoIR SSBK and IRGP SSBK champion in the Philippines, qualified in P7. Race 1 saw him crossing the finish line in P7 while in Race 2 he had a better result and ended up at P4.

“Thank you to everyone, it was already in reach, next time more and better. I gave my 100% but it still hasn’t arrived yet. Time to work hard during this summer break,” shared Alfonsi.

Next round of the Asia Talent Cup is on September 28 at the Mobility Resort Motegi in Japan. After three rounds, Alfonsi is 5th in the overall standings of the 21-rider Asia Talent Cup grid. It is the Pinoy pride’s second year in the Asia Talent Cup, and just like in his debut, Daquigan is showing a lot of passion and skills, making the country proud for his endeavors to the “Road to MotoGP”. Run by MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports as part of their world-leading Road to MotoGP initiative, the ATC provides an opportunity for the most talented young riders in Asia and Oceania to race and learn. Riders aged 14 to 17 years race using identical ATC-liveries Honda NSF250R Moto3 machines.

A week after a brilliant Asia Talent Cup performance in Sepang, Alfonsi is also taking a break from his tough European JuniorGP ETC season. He flies back to Europe next week to prepare for his next race in Misano. He was back to the Tarlac Circuit Hill on August 8 and 9 for some training with other young Filipino riders.
