The Philippines’ only international superbike racing team, Access Plus Racing Ducati, is again the factory Ducati team representative in the premier ASB1000 superbike class for the 2022 FIM Idemitsu Asia Road Racing Championships (ARRC).

In their first two years in the Asian Championship, the team has always fielded one Asian rider, Filipino Timothy ” TJ”  Alberto and a number of European riders as team mates. This year, the team will have an all Asian rider line up represented by two national Champions.

During the ARRC hiatus in 2021, TJ Alberto returned to the Philippine Superbike Championships after more than 3 years away. He dominated the series and achieved his first national championship, emulating his father and team owner Toti Alberto who won the title more than 20 yrs ago.

“I’m really excited to back in the Asia Road Racing Championship after two years of being away due to the pandemic. I feel quite confident coming into 2022 as we made big improvements on our Panigale V4R during our season in the national championship. After taking the overall title racing the Philippines in 2021, I feel more confident to perform at this high level competing against the best riders in the region. Really looking forward to racing with Access Plus Racing and Ducati Philippines once again and aiming for good results this year, ” said TJ.

He is now joined by veteran and 5-time Thailand Superbike Champion Thitipong “Tong Note” Warongkorn for the first round ti be held at the  Chang International Circuit in Buriram Thailand.

” It was a very fast deal and I would like to thank all who were involved and made it happen especually to Sanam Chang. And most importantly to the Thai fans. I am changin cir but not changing my state if mind and I will still do my best in the nane if Thai riders in the Asian stage, ” said Ting Note.

During the first day of the Pre Season test, both riders displayed respectable tines on board their  Ducati Panigale V4R, clocking times that put them in the top 4 at the moment.

It is too early to say what their optimum performance is but Alberto’s mastery of the V4R racebike during last year’s PSBK campaign and Warongkorn’s massive home track experience will definitely help the team. Each rider will be complementing each other’s strengths over the race weekend.

The FIM Idemitsu ARRC will start this weekend and will have six round in Thailand, Malaysia, China and Japan.

Access Plus Racing is sponsored by Ducati Philippines, Angkas, Essenza, Frontrow, Katinko, Makati Diamond Residences, Italtrans, Aella, Apex, Extreme Components, Lv8, Macbeth, Ohlins, and STM.
