In the All Japan Road Race Championship, the Yamaha Factory Racing Team has continued its strong run of form this season.

In Race 1, the Yamaha Factory Racing Team’s Katsuyuki Nakasuga ran away at the front to take the win. His teammate Yuki Okamoto got off to a slightly slow start before fighting off his rivals to finish in 2nd, giving the team its fourth 1-2 finish of the season.

Race 2 was a heated battle between teammates. Nakasuga got off to a good start, but Okamoto was able to catch up to him before dropping back to 4th in the latter half of the race. He then caught back up to Nakasuga and tried to take the lead, but Nakasuga was able to hold him off by a mere 0.1 seconds at the line to take his eighth win of the season. Nakasuga’s winning streak that began last season has now stretched to 18 wins.

Okamoto has now finished on the podium in every race except for Race 1 in the season opener, and is now in 2nd place in the standings.

The next round will be held on August 28.
