On board the Honda CBR250RR and racing for SSC – Honda Philippines – GS Battery, the young Filipino pride finished in P2 of his category in Race 1 on May 10 and Race 2 the next day. The MSBK 250 class was composed of more than 30 riders and is divided into A and B classes. Younger riders compete in the B class wherein some parts of the bikes were stock. The A class on the other hand is for more experienced riders and their race bikes have open specifications.

With P2 finish in both races, Carlsen is currently ranked second at the MSBK standings and has a promising campaign in the series. He debuted in the MSBK 250 last year as wildcard in the last round.

Carlsen shared, “I had a good start in Race 2. Unfortunately I had to battle for positions with class A riders, giving my other competitor an advantage. As the race went on, I continued to battle for P2 until I made a mistake while passing another rider, giving him under a second gap. Thankfully I did not give up and started to push, was able to catch him on the final corner and took 2nd place. I would like to thank my family for their 100% full support. Thank you to my team, coaches, managers, mechanics, tuners and crew thank you. To all our sponsors, thank you for making all this possible. See you again in Round 2.”
