Chang & Pirelli are Motul Super UB Open victors at the Cavite GP National

2022 FIM ARRC racer Kerwin Chang (JVT NAMSSA Sumulong KC99) joined his first FIM NAMSSA sanctioned Philippine national road race of the year at the Cavite GP, round 2 of the Motul Super Series Nationwide Championships.
Although Chang now regularly is competiting at world class international circuits in the TVS Asia Challenge, Chan admitted tbat be missed racing at IR Speedrome type events.
His victory in the Motul Super Underbone Open GP in the fast IR Speedrome in Silang Cavite proved that he still has the talent and cunning speed to mix it up on temporary tracks.
He slipped and slided his way to victory, obviously enjoying the intimate and raw nature of the circuit and the confidence that his Pirelli Rosso Corsa tires gave him. Twice we thought thay Chang would bin it but both times he recovered and powered out efficiently.The fans and other race teams was happy to see the fast rider in yellow in action.
Afterwards he dedicated his win to his tuner and lovingly thanked him on his social media page; “Super Series Open Class CHAMPION! Boss England Sumulong, ‘wag na tampo tuner manager kahit tono lang sa shop Sumulong Enterprises & Machine Shop laban. Salamat sa walang sawang suporta samen magkapatid haha Labyu na boss sorry na haha,” he wrote on his personal account.
We hope Chang can attend the next round in Cebu this July before he flies again to fulfill his ARRC commitments.
Meanwhile, visiting Vis-Min rider Garry Cañeda Jr. (Yamaha-323) was a strong runner up ahead of Honda’s Jakob Sablaya on an sealed engine bike.
EJ Sobretodo was in the thick of the fight for he win when he suffered a DNF early in the race when his chain came off.
The 2022 Motul Super Series Nationwide Championship is a Philippine National road race event sanctioned by NAMSSA, the FIM National Federation in partnership wuth Club affiliate USRA.
It is presented by Motul by Infiniteserv International in partnership with Pirelli, Zeneos, Beast, FDR, Extreme One, and Quick.
