The Pan America, Harley Davidson’s new adventure bike, was just launched in Thailand in the ongoing the Bangkok International Motorshow.

Thai price ranges from 899,000 Baht (Php1.411M) for the Base Pan America 1250 model up to 999,000 Baht (Php1.568M) for the Pan America 1250 Special with two-tone paint, adaptive headlights and laced wheels.

Without the widely accepted ADV front beak, the Pan America’s fresh styling is unique and not a  “me too” execution. We are assuming that it will be launched  here in the Philippines next month.

Claimed weight 534 lbs or 242 kgs ready to ride which is  lighter than same as the class leading BMW R1200GS (268 kgs)  and  the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro (254 kgs). Riders will eventually  decide if the American bike will be as fun and capable to ride as the German and the Italian.

Some of the feature highlights include bespoke Brembo brakes, semi-active front and rear Showa suspension suspension and adaptive load ad ride height, adaptive headlights, aluminum swingarm,  asymmetrical cast aluminum wheel with 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the back, Michelin Scorcher Adventure tires and a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen.

The electronic suite includes five rider modes (Road, Sport, Rain, Off-Road, and Off-Road Plus) which adapt the bike’s power delivery, engine braking, cornering ABS, and cornering traction control to the rider’s immediate needs. Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings.

Meanwhile, the new liquid-cooled 1,252cc V-twin Revolution Max engine produces 150 horsepower at 9,000rpm andv 94 lb-ft of torque at 6,750rpm. It has  dual-overhead-cam (DOHC) and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). It is mated to a six-speed transmission with clutch assist with slipper functions.
