Honda donates Php 1 Million to victims of Southwest Monsoon rains caused by Typhoon “Maring” in Luzon

Philippines, August 22, 2013 – The widespread flooding due to Southwest Monsoon rains in Luzon affecting Regions I, III, IV-A, IV-B, CAR, and NCR has caused destruction of property, loss of lives and displacement of many families and communities.

According to PAGASA, heavy downpour caused by Southwest Monsoon was triggered by Typhoon “Maring” which recently left Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Honda Foundation Inc. (“HFI”) has partnered with ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. and donated Php1Million to support relief operations in severely affected areas.

HFI is the corporate social responsibility arm of the subsidiaries of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Japan) in the Philippines. The subsidiaries of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Japan) in the Philippines are comprised of Honda Philippines, Inc., Honda Cars Phils., Inc., Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp., and Honda Trading Phils., Ecozone Corp.

HFI had also donated to victims of strong typhoons such as Ondoy, Sendong, Habagat (“Haikui”), and Pablo.
