Amber Torres, Mckinley Kyle Paz, and John Emerson Inguito solidified their places as the top guns in the local scooter scene with excellent performances in the final round of then 2016 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships at the Clark International Speedway last October 2, 2016.

Torres of Amber16 Racing won his 5th race of the season last Sunday and it was more than enough to emerge as the over-all winner in the 130cc Automatic class. Justinne Bethany Tolentino of Phoenix-Yamaha-KOSO showed consistency in getting her 5th podium slot of the year to end up as 2nd over-all. Jacq Buncio finished at third place over-all.

In the 160cc Automatic Scooter Class, Phoenix-Yamaha-KOSO’s Mckinley Kyle Paz exemplified grace under pressure as he won the all important final race of the season to edge out erstwhile points leader and teammate, Neil Jan Centeno. Entering the final race, Centeno was actually on top of the standings with a 4 point lead over Paz. But then, since the points in the last round will be multiplied by 1.5, that means that Paz still had a mathematical chance of overtaking Centeno if he wins. And that is what happened, Paz showed good cornering skills and focus to squeeze past Centeno in the last race to earn 37.5 points to his opponent’s 33 points, and that 4.5 point differential proved to be costly for Neil as he ended the season at 2nd place, just a mere 0.5 points behind Paz. What a way to end the season.

John Emerson Inguito of Yamaha-Spec V once again proved that he is on top of the Elite racers we have today as he protected his lead to end up as the 180cc Scooter Champ in the 2016 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship.

Congratulations to all!
