IR Update: Mangulabnan and BMW on Pole for Sunday’s Pirelli PSBK race

Rosario, Batangas – Marvin Mangulabnan of Team BMW Motorrad Philippines today recorded a new lap record of 1 min 34.722 secs on his BMW S1000RR around the Batangas Racing Circuit to capture the Pole Position for tomorrow’s Pirelli Philippine National Superbike Championships.
The second round of the series sanctioned by FETAP and SBRA will feature Race 3 and Race 4 of the 12-race series that will determine the fastest Filipino rider and win the Golden Wheel Award for Superbikes.
Normally a Clark Speedway specialist, he is very happy ro get his first pole position in Batangas. He narrowly piped last round’s double winner TJ Alberto of Team Bacchus- Ducati who registered a best of 1 min 34.764 secs on his Ducati Panigale. Third was Kawasaki-Motorrad’s Dashi Watanabe at 1min 35.204 secs. TJ’s  younger brother team mate and MotoIR2 champion Troy Alberto was fourth at 1 min 36.4secs followed by defending champion RGutz-Wheeltek rider Raniel Resuello at 1 min.37.8.secs.
Marvin Mangulabnan is in his second  year as a factory BMW riders and is supprted by HGM Performance, Shell V Power Nitro Plus, Soumy helmets,SSS sprockets, and Wurth.
Tomorrow’s race is organized by the Batangas Racing Circuit Association.
