Italjet signs MotoGP star Andrea Dovisiozo!

MotoGP star Andrea Dovisiozo is now the lead rider in the development of the new Italjet Dragster.

“We are happy to announce that we have signed an important agreement with MotoGP Champion and Rider, Andrea Dovizioso, as an exceptional pilot & tester for the new Italjet Dragster who will be helping with the development and setting of the new Dragster, ” said Italjet on their Facebook Page.

“The Dragster is a concentrate of energy. When I saw it for the first time, I was impressed. I’m delighted to contribute with technicians to the development of parts, braking systems and the engine. The details make the difference, and the Dragsters details are very impressive, unlike anything else in this segment, ” said Dovisiozo.

The remake of the iconic Italian scooter was a global sensation when it was announced in 2018 with many putting deposits down to get first dibs. It was recently been awarded “Best Scooter” at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2021 (below).

Here in the Philippines, there is a lot of interest from the beginning and riders even created groups like Italjet Dragster PH. Those who have commited to purchase one are all eagerly awaiting for its eventual release, which was delayed due to the world situation.

Last April, Italjet CEO Massimo Tartarini issued an official statement informing its customers of the Dragster’s production status.

The official Italjet distributor in the Philippines is Access Plus.

Andrea Dovisiozo is a veteran MotoGP racer who rode for Honda, Yamaha and recently, Ducati. He was runner up in the world championships many times. He is currently in sabbatical in 2021 and has tested for the Aprilia Team.
