Lady riders sharing the same passion decided to name their group “Las Meninas,” which means “Girls in Waiting”, a perfect definition for them who are eagerly waiting to ride.

Las Meninas Ph was established since May 2021 before the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Before, they are called South Classic Sisterhood. The group is currently composed of 20 female riders and counting. All members of Las Meninas Ph own classic bikes including a Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide 1500, Kawasaki Vulcan 650, Bristol 400, Benelli Motobi Evo 200, TVS XL100, customized Keeway Café Racer 152 (Scrambler and Café Racer build) and customized RUSI Classic 250 (Scrambler and Café Racer Build). Las Meninas has no officers for now, but they’re planning to have a set of officers soon.

The group advocates gender equality in the riding community. Their goals are mainly to promote the classic community and to encourage female riders sharing the same passion to enjoy riding safely and responsibly, thus, their motto is “Ladies can ride too.”

Las Meninas Ph members participated in the recently concluded “Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2021” last May. DGR is a global motorcycle event, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health programs on behalf of Movember Foundation. Aside from DGR 2021, they group also had numerous rides, mostly to Southern areas such as Tagaytay, Cavite, Batangas  and around Metro Manila, just to name a few.

They are also featured in different motorcycle vlogs of Mr. Kalakal and Slap Dash Corners, and has even been featured in a segment on the Daily Inquirer. Las Meninas Ph was invited to join “tambikes” – short for “tambay with our bikes”, which were hosted by prominent classic motorcycle builders, such as (Maxi Moto Parts and Custom Builds and Klassik Motorcycle Builds.

For now, the club is open to all lady riders within the NCR bubble; mainly located in Cavite, Taguig and Parañaque for proximity, ease of meet ups, and ride locations. In the near future, the group hopes to have a larger female classic rider community across the nation, and hopefully, worldwide. They are looking forward to collaborating with some known big names in the motorcycle community & of course, expanding their group to accommodate more female riders who share the same passion. Once the virus has been eradicated, Las Meninas PH plans to do the Rizal-Antipolo loop.

Las Meninas Ph is known as a group of female classic riders which is unique to riding community. It is an amalgamation of different women from different walks of life, with different careers, united by their common love for classic bikes.
