The PG-1 was officially introduced by Yamaha Motor Philippines. The 115cc moped is for the outdoors weekend wanderer—one who seeks freedom and liberation from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is within the outdoors they seek to explore and find out more, leaving it all behind.
On May 24, an Explorer’s Camp was held together with media partners, motovloggers, and film makers at Camp Hiatus in Tanay, Rizal while the next day, the public got to experience the explorations at Bridgetowne, Pasig.
The Yamaha PG-1 is designed for rugged performance to thrust you to freedom. It features a 115cc Fi engine, dual seat, 5.1 L tank capacity, upright handlebar, iconic round headlight and tail light, block patterned tires, H-shaped front fork, analog instrument cluster with gear indicator, 190mm ground clearance, minimal condensed design ad rubber boots cover.
InsideRACING’s Mr. Al Camba did a test ride of thePG-1 and here is his first impression of the Yamaha moped:
“First, the PG-1’s adventure custom bike aesthetics theme is actually refreshing and gives it an upscale in image. The PG-1 falls in the modern retro style of motorcycles, a practice that is only recently seen on premium big bikes. The wider wheels and fatter knobby tires contribute to both comfort and added traction that give it more ability for off-road conditions such as gravel and mud. The tall tire profile will also help in comfort on our pothole-filled roads as the sidewalls will absorb the bumps better. Experienced riders will even lower the tire pressure to get even more comfort and traction as needed. The 115 cc engine is strong enough and incredibly smooth! Probably one of its main asset as it is both powerful and efficient. It is just perfect for the PG-1’s purpose and target mixed usage of both daily commuter and weekend explorer. Ergonomics is great! The relaxed and upright position coupled with the tall, wide handlebars not only enhances rider’s ability to control for safe riding in mixed conditions, but is also ideal for long hours on the saddle. Perfect for just meandering and exploring around on just about any kind of road conditions or pathways. The PG-1 is a one of those that I can call a “happy bike”. You don’t need to have a reason to ride and enjoy it. I would prefer more color options though. The yellow version will be the “happiest” bike for me.”
The Yamaha PG-1 has an SRP of Php 96, 400 and is available in matte brown color.
