Lopez and Doblada leads MotoIR Championship heading to Round 6 at CIS

MOTO-IR-Race-4-CIS-3-300x166Despite suffering his first DNF of the season last July 13 at the Carmona Race Track in Cavite, Herbert Lopez of Team NHK-Racewell still leads the 2104 Shell Advance MotoIR Championships Presented by Honda. In the race, Lopez’s  MotoIR racebike suffered a rare mechanical failure after only three laps. The thrilling race was won by MTRT-Honda’s Paul Mark Doblada who also took Pole Position. It was Doblada’s first win in the regular MotoIR season since winning his debut MotoIR race in last year’s MotoIRGP2 at IRGP7, also held at the same track. With his win Doblada moves into second place in the championships with 76 points, 10 points behind Lopez going into the 6th round of the championship as the field heads back to the high speed track of Clark Speedway this Sunday August 3.  They are closely followed behind by two-time defending MotoIR champion Rizaldy Canare (Team NHK-Racewell), MotoIRGP1 winner Anthony Roman (KYT-Castrol-Dushop),Brian Ortile (Petron-RaceAce), IRGP Champion Masato Fernando (KYT-Spec V) and Dustin Esguerra (MLW-ZEBRA)

MOTO-IR-Race-4-CIS-2-300x166Meanwhile, the MotoIR2 Championship continues to be dominated by Gio Adriano (KYT) who won four out of five races so far. He lost the last race to MTRT-Honda’s Robert Matthew Ramos who now lies second in MotoIR2 standings. Ramos meanwhile leads the Shell Advance MotoIR Youth Cup followed closely by Gian Carlo Mauricio who will make a comeback on Sunday after suffering a huge high-side crash last June 29 at Clark.

The 9-race 2014 Shell Advance MotoIR Championship Presented by Honda is also sup[ported by Racing Boy, FDR, Bridgestone and Vee Rubber. Now on its third season, the championship  is organized by InsideRACING and sanctioned by teh Underbone and Scooter Racing Association (USRA).
