The group was first established in 2014 but turned active in 2016 with one common goal which is to strive for the best and to ride with pride. That is where their motto came from “RIDE WITH PRIDE… THE COWBOYS STRIVE”.

Marikina Cowboys is under the tutelage of its Chief Marshal Rod Cruz who is also the National Chairman of ARANGKADA Riders Alliance. It has become his role model club. Therefore, to be part of the group, one must undergo serious rider training/handling techniques and at the same time know their rights as a motorcycle rider. Strict implementation of its by-laws is being conducted. The group does not rely on numbers but on the quality of its members. The group is headed by Sheriff Richard Corpuz, Deputies Jeffrey Cruz and Reynell Rombano, Sec. Gen. Jonathan Mendoza, Treasurer Ricardo Escasinas, PRO Larry Francisco and Road Marshal Troy Gonzalez. Together, they stir the group to its path.

The Marikina Cowboys has participated in numerous activities like “Laruan Sa Kabataan” wherein using their motorcycles, they roam around barangays in Marikina and give away toys more particularly to those who are not financially capable. What other way of giving joy to these children by sharing your blessing? The group also has “Bigay Pagmamahal Kay Lolo at Lola. In this project, they visit home for the aged and give their basic necessity and serenade them with songs and games. Another yearly project of the group is the giving of school supplies before classes starts. Unfortunately this year, they were forced to cancel due to the recent pandemic.

When it comes to rides, at least every two months, the group sets up rides and visits places like Mindoro, Batangas, Zambales, Baguio, Ilocos Norte and other places where riders are most likely to go to. As of now, the group is in rest state due to COVID-19 pandemic but they still make it a point to do some catching up via group chats or messenger. At times, there will be meetings which are attended by some and not majority of the members. Social distancing is implemented in these meetings.

Watch out after this pandemic and as everything is back to normal, expect the Marikina Cowboys to soar high again and be at the forefront of all activities in the riding community.
