It was a great start for the Racetech Yamaha Philippines Racing Team in their campaign for the UB150 class of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The series kicked off the Petronas Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from April 10-12.

April King “Rocket Boy” Mascardo, a seasoned ARRC UB150 rider and one of the top Filipino racers, successfully delivered a podium finish for Racetech Yamaha Philippines racing team in Race 2 of the first round.

Starting from P4, Mascardo dropped to P15 and successfully climbed his way up to P2. The 6-lap race proved to be a test of strength and resilience which the Filipino has shown through a photo finish. The rider from Davao redeemed himself from a P14 finish in Race 1 a day before. Prior to that, Mascardo had a good Superpole performance. It is always a tough battlefield in the UB150 category of the FIM ARRC.

Mascardo is now third in the UB150 point standings with 22 points after the first round. Meanwhile,it is the maiden FIM ARRC full season for Timothy Rojas, Mascardo’s teammate, and he delivered a P14 and P17 finish in the first round.
