The 24 year old masterfully steered his Yamaha Sniper 150 through a sea of the fastest Asian riders in the most competitive class in the Asia Road Road Racing Championship (ARRC).

Starting from 2nd on the grid, the former Super Series Nationwide and IRGP Champion who cut his racing teeth in the RUGP, stayed within the top 3 or 5 places front the start until the last 2 laps. Mascardo, together with his other Malaysian team mates, managed to get to the front on the last lap, dicing with top riders from Cardinals, JRT Pitsbike and our very own Inguito of 4S1M.

Mascardo took the lead with a lap to go and and managed to stretch a two bike length lead ( that’s massive by ARRC UB150 standard). going into the last two corners where the action usually hapoe s in UB150 racing, Mascaedo looked relaxed and steady, choosing his lone wisely to come out of the last corner on the lead! He crossed the line with only a 0.181s lead for his third win in the ARRC. His first two ARRC way back in 2017 in Johor, Malaysia and here in Buriram in the development SAC class. Mascardo also made history by being the only Filipino to win in ARRC on two different motorcycle brands.

“Parang panaginip po itong nagyari! Sobrang saya ko po. During the cool down lap umiiyak po ako. Thank you Lord sa lahat na binigay mong blessings sa amin. Hindi ko po talaga exoeceted ito lasi last race if the season and laht ng riders are pushing to the limit! Last lap relax lang ang katawan ko para preparado ako lahit ano mangyari.”

It is Mascardo’s first win and third podium for 2022 having finished 3rd in Malaysia and 2nd in Japan.

“Sobrang tuwa ko po ngayong season na oto dahil madami po akong natutunan. Maraming salamat po sa aking team, sa akibg mechanics and sa team mate ko po. Sana po matapos nin ang season na safe lahat, ” he added.

Meanwhile his team mate Gian Carlo Mauricio’s race was doomed from the start as his bike.suffered overheating problems and pulled inro the pits after two laps.

” Cguro mabilis na nareach ng engine ko un top RPM kaya nadale agad yun motor ko. From the start nag kumpol na so sumagad agad un engine laya nag overheat. Sinubukan ko.pa umikot kaso may nagtatapon na ng langis,” said a dissappointed Gian.
