MDPPA Campaigns #GenerationRoadSafety

The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA), the country’s premier group of motorcycle manufacturers composed of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, initiates a social media campaign entitled #GenerationRoadSafety.

The campaign aims to create a community of road safety advocates that will expand and reinvigorate road safety conversations in the Philippines and in Asia. Activities of the campaign are MDPPA Table Talks, Generation Road Safety Table and Virtual Road Safety Seminars.

MDPPA expressed, “The campaign challenges the current climate of road safety conversation in the country to evolve from one that is limited to drivers and riders’ lens to one that is inclusive of the general public’s stories. After all, road safety is everyone’s responsibility. In so doing, Generation Road Safety marks the rise of a new generation composed of a community of road safety advocates whose role is to reinvigorate and drive the discussion about road safety in the Philippines and in Asia. Join the movement! Let’s show the world that riding a motorcycle is fun, exciting, and beneficial while advocating for road safety for all!”

Current MDPPA officers are Mr. Norminio C. Mojica of Suzuki Philippines (President); Mr. Virgilio Montaño of Kawasaki Motors (Phils.) Corp. (Vice President); Mr. Armando Reyes of Honda Philippines (Treasurer) and Mr. Alfredo O. Lejano of Yamaha Motor Philippines (Auditor). Committee Chairmen are Mr. Toni Boi Acuesta (Yamaha) for Marketing, Mr. Herminio Lomibao (Honda) for Road Safety, Mr. Virgilio A. Montaño (Kawasaki) for Technical and Ms. Vicelyn V. Layno (MDPPA) for Government.

The MDPPA projects a 27% sales growth for 2021. Together with its member brands – Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha – the MDPPA stands firm in its commitment to provide safe and affordable mode of transportation to Filipino riders.
