MDPPA inducts 2024 Board of Directors and Committee Heads

Makati Diamond Residence Hotel, Salcedo Village, Makati City (February 19, 2024). The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA), an association of motorcycle manufacturers in the Philippines, inducts its new set of officers for 2024. This was the first time in five (5) years that the ceremony was held face-to-face. The 2021 Induction was conducted online due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The Honorable Ceferino S. Rodolfo, DPA, Undersecretary for the Industry Development Group (IDG) of the Department of Trade and Industry and Vice Chairman and Managing Head of the Board of Investments was the keynote speaker at the induction ceremony. He also inducted into office Mr. Alexander A. Cumpas of Kawasaki Motor (Philippines) Corp, Inc. as President; Mr. Erwin D. Estrada of Honda Phils., Inc. as Vice President; Mr. Gilbert J. Bilagantol of Yamaha Motors Phils. Corp. as Treasurer and Mr. Norminio C. Mojica of Suzuki Phils, Inc. as Auditor.

The Committee Chairmen who were also inducted were Mr. Toni Boi Acuesta (Yamaha) for Marketing, Mr. Michael Lopez (Kawasaki) for Road Safety, Mr. Andrew Angeles (Honda) for Technical, and Ms. Lissete Fajardo (Suzuki) for Government.

Mr. Mojica, the immediate past president, shared MDPPA’s major achievements for the period 2021-2023, which according to him would not have been possible without the collective efforts of all the members. The new president, Mr. Cumpas, emphasized the directions of the association in 2024: Which according to Mr. Cumpas will continue to focus on proactive involvement and participation in policy formulation and rule-making, and international commitments; sustained and coordinated road safety promotion; heightened publicity on MDPPA; proactive approach on Electric Vehicle industry development and membership expansion.

“The theme for the Induction “Moving forward beyond the current challenges” is not only a rallying cry but an apt description of what will ignite us to more action. It sparks our fire to continue delivering the results despite of the current challenges and post-pandemic economic uncertainties,” “Rising above and beyond” was our previous battle cry, which we did so with flying colors by the Previous Board and all its committees, thru the leadership of Pres. Mojica said Mr. Cumpas.

The event was graced by distinguished guests from the government, MDPPA member- companies presidents, the Association’s past presidents, members of the motorcycle media, and key officers of MDPPA member companies.
