Motorcycle Riders can be protected by Face Mask and Hand cleaning

Motorcycle riders can be protected from COVID-19 by wearing face masks and cleaning their hands according to an infectious disease doctor.

“The way we advocate to prevent respiratory droplet transmission is the wearing of mask, both by the driver and the rider (backrider). So if you are wearing a mask aready, I am not too sure of the additional benefit of using that barrier between the rider and his passenger,” epressed Dr. Arthur Dessi Roman of the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. This was Doctor Roman’s response when asked about the barrier required for motorcycle backriding.
Currently, the IATF requires a barrier or protective shield between motorcycle backriding couples. Many do not agree to this, reasoning that full face helmets, face masks, jacket and other riding gears and of course proper and good hygiene are enough protection from virus transmission. Many are also concerned about the danger of the barrier for motorcycle riding.
