Motul Super Series Off to a Roaring Start in Pampanga

Racers and race fans looked forward to the start of the 2024 Motul Super Series nationwide championship and the wait and preparation were all worth it as the series had a great season opener last April 7 in San Simon, Pampanga.
Dubbed Motul Grand Prix of Pampanga, the first round of the Motul Super Series was held at the spacious R33 Drift Track. The venue was indeed a good battleground for the racers who came from different parts of the country. Race fans had a blast watching underbone and scooter racing stars and up and coming riders show their skills on board fast machines.
For 2024, the Motul Super Series has 7 Permanent Franchise Teams (PFT) and 3 charter teams. The Permanent Franchise Teams are Spec V KC99, Dad’s Garage 4S1M, TWPO Project Fi Motoworld, Claveria Riding Academy, Denoo DE69, Honda Project M KOBY and Yamaha NCX 4S1M (YN4 Racing). Charter teams are RnD Racing Team, Angkas Xteer VMAN and Ferreras Racing Team. Riders of these teams are the competitors of the national categories. Meanwhile, there are divisional categories for non PFT riders.
There was nothing short of action and excitement as the races were all thrilling to watch. Winners in the season opener were John Emerson Inguito of Dad’s Garage 4S1M (Super Underbone Open GP), Shan Espedilla of Dad’s Garage 4S1M (Super Underbone Open SP), Kerwin Chang of Spec V KC99 (Super Underbone Limited GP), Rain del Mundo of RnD Racing Team (Super Underbone Limited SP) and Gian Carlo Comendador of Yamaha NCX 4S1M (Super Scooter Limited 125 SP) who travelled all the way from Cebu. Club races were also held in the opening round and winners were Kevin Martinez of Ferreras Racing Team in the Underbone Club Race, Prince Jacob Rom of Claveria Riding Academy in the Scooter Club Race and Mathew Alison de Jesus of E2R Garage in the 2T Club Race. Fastest Intermediate Rider in the first round was JM Inguito of Dad’s Garage 4S1M.

Aside from the Super Series races, the Moto Culture Fest organized by Boss Chip and Xavery Motorcycle Parts was an attraction at the R33 Drift Track. The event featured a motor show, raffles, games and entertainment and was attended by motorcycle enthusiasts. The 2T Club Race in the Super Series was also part of Moto Culture Fest. Round 2 of the Motul Super Series is on May 5 at the Malolos Sports Center and Convention Center in Bulacan. Organized by InsideRACING in Luzon and The Racing Line in Visayas and Mindanao since 2016, the Super Series is currently sanctioned by the Philippine FIM Federation NAMSSA and its club affiliate USRA.
