The Motorcycle Rights Organization or MRO has just published their communication with the LTO regarding the impending release of the new plates.
From their Facebook Page:
We just received a RESPONSE from LTO:
Saan makukuha ang plates?
LTO Reply : Regardless if paid or not, the plates will be released to the dealers…
If you bought your MC secondhand, it will come to you upon renewal of your registration… Or simply message LTO directly via Messenger…
The news said front, rear and sides?
LTO Reply: Only rear plates will be released to the dealerships…
While waiting, what is the STAUS QUO?
LTO Reply: Everyone is directed to use their OLD PLATES or TEMPORARY PLATES in the mean time… NO PLATES OR TEMPORARY PLATES = Apprehension…
LTO said, NO REASON TO PANIC… LTO will not issue an apprehension directive until the plates have been released substantially… Until then, the release is just a release… Not the FULL implementation…
Sa lahat, hindi ibig sabihin nyan pwede kayo mag motorsiklo sa public roads ng walang plaka o temporary plate… Sundin nyo pa din ang batas…
Kapag may HINULI DAHIL WALA PANG BAGONG PLAKA without even receiving it yet may REPORT TO LTO directly via MESSENGER or send your tickets to MRO with a picture of your current plate or temporary plate…
