Round 2 of the Aeon Credit MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship is happening this weekend at Sepang International Circuit and Carlsen Solis of SSC – Honda Philippines – GS Battery Racing Team is once again eager to showcase Filipino racing talent in the 250 B class of the series.

Practice sessions on Friday, July 4, were held in wet conditions but 15-year-old Solis managed to be on P3 in Practice 1. As the conditions improved in Practice 2, his team was able to get valuable data to have a good base setup for qualifying the following day. It was a consistent pace for Solis despite using tires from the previous round.

Qualifying the next day saw Solis getting a 2:34 lap time putting him in P4 of his class. Not the result his team hoped for but the young rider was determined to give his all in Race 1 held in the afternoon.

The Filipino pride had a P4 result in Race 1 which featured a 26-rider lineup and is hopeful for Race 2 on Sunday.
“Not the Race 1 we are looking for. So many adjustments. Anyway, looking good for Race 2,” Carlsen shared.

Mentored by Malaysian star rider Ramdam Rosli and accompanied by his father Roger Solis and manager Carlo Calderon, Carlsen Solis is showing a lot of promise in the Malaysian Superbike Series. He brought the Filipino flag up the podium in Round 2 with a P2 finish in both races. He debuted in the series as a wildcard rider in December 2024. Locally, he was a MotoIR Super Sport 200 champion, IRGP podium finisher and Honda Dream Cup and Motul MotoIR Youth Cup top rider.
