National Motorcycle Road Racing Returns this weekend at CIS

After more than a year of absence, Philippine motorcycle road racing is set to return this weekend. The first two legs of the PETRON National Motorcycle Racing Championships (MORAC) will be held on June 19 and 20 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS).

Organized by the Batangas Circuit Racing Association (BRCA), the motorsport weekend is an outdoor, non-contact sport to be held in limited venue capacity following strict minimum health and safety protocols in compliance with the IATF. The event is sanctioned by the Federation of Two Wheels Association of the Philippines (FETAP), Superbike Racing Association (SBRA), and the Unified Sports and Racing Association (USRA) for Motorcycles, Inc.

National classes include the PIRELLI Philippine Underbone King Championships (UBK), the PIRELLI Scooter Racing Championships (PSR), and the PIRELLI Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK).

Other championships who will join them are the MOTOIR Championships, Philippine DUCATI Cup and the PIRELLI Cup.

The race will observe strict social distancing protocols and advanced registration is required.  More importantly, all competing riders must submit a negative RT-PCR Test with a validity for 72 hours.

The MORAC races will be livestreamed on social media on both days so that fans can enjoy the races without going to the track.

Sanctioned motorsport had recently returned following the easing up of restrictions. The track recently held the successful  Kalayaan Cup, a 12 Hours Endurance race for automobiles last weekend.
