Two days after Joint Task Force COVID Shield Commander General Guillermo Eleazar said that non-Cavite residents must have travel pass to go to Tagaytay, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, in his facebook page post, made a clarification.

Here is the facebook post of Governor Remulla:

“On behalf of the Cavite Provincial Government, I would like to apologize for the hasty decision to issue a travel warning to Tagaytay City last September 15.

I was reacting to a directive made by Philippine National Police Chief General Guillermo Eleazar issuing a statement that a travel pass is required to enter Tagaytay.

2. All restaurants in Tagaytay City are subject to IATF guidelines. Occupancy and operation hours apply.

Siguro ang ibig sabihin: One (1) person per room lamang ang puedeng gumamit at a time.

On a serious note, PLEASE remember that we are still under a strict QUARANTINE system. We are still very much in a pandemic mode.

Stay safe and keep well everyone. God bless Cavite!”

Since Tagaytay has been opened for tourists to restart the economy, traffic around the area has been experienced due to the increased number of motorists and vehicles.

General Eleazar, days ago, said in a briefing that those who are not living in Cavite are required to secure travel pass to go to the popular destination. Now, Cavite Governor Remulla announced that no travel pass needed for Tagaytay tourists. We hope that there will be a clear and final guideline  as the Joint Task Force COVID Shield and Cavite local government  had contradicting statements. One thing is for sure, the pandemic is not yet over and safety protocols must be stictly followed.
