As early as 12 years ago in 2009, during the 3rd IR Bikefest, we already started to organize a “MiniGP” race in order to highlight young and upcoming talents. We used pocketbikes as that is what was available then.

Our participants then included very young kids such as Gian Carlo Mauricio, McKinley Kyle Paz, John Emerson Inguito and Robert Matthew Ramos.

We can say that that race was very significant in our history because 10 years later by 2019, the four became international racers; one became multiple national champion and one became the first Filipino FIM international champion. Now in 2021, we are embarking in a more organized way to find new talents and also train existing ones as we launch the MotoIR3 Academy and MotoIR Championships.

It will use the proven and very reliable Kayo MiniGP bikes as the spec bike which will be sourced from us. We confirmed the supply agreement direct from the factory last September and they have recently arrived after delays caused by the pandemic.

This will be a great training vehicle for our young riders and a cost effective way to go racing on equal machinery. I am very excited and can’t wait for the season to begin.

Ride safely and always fasten your certified helmet.
