Paz Moto2 Race in Portugal is this weekend

The 12th 2021 FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship gets underway again this weekend at the the 4.684 km Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Potugal.

It will also be the second race of Filipino VR46 Master Camp Team rider McKinley Kyle Paz. He made his promising debut in the FIM championship a few weeks ago in Spain where, despite mechanical setbacks that resulted in a double DNF, Paz showed his ability to adapt to the new bike and showed progression over the weekend.

Last week, Paz already went to Portugal for some testing with the team on the circuit with his Moto2 bike and, according to YMPH’s Mr. Jordan Cornista, it went very well.

“For this weekend, Kyle will use his previous race engine rather than the spare installed for Race 2 in Barcelona. The Algarve layout is not new for him because he is always racing on that track on the video game. He finds the track so challenging yet exciting due to its unique character and layout like the big uphill and downhill that you can never see on other tracks,” shared Mr. Cornista who is always at Paz’s side.

Paz has been doing a lot of physical training for this round as he already knows the level of stamina required to do not only fast but also consistent laptimes. He posted a photo on his social media page lifting weights in the gym. He will be looking to score his first Moto2 points this weekend.

Here is the daily schedule. Although the race weekend will not start until Friday July 2, Paz maybe attending the official CEV Testing on June 30 and July 1.
