After more than three months in Europe competing in the FIM CEV Repsol European Moto2 Championships, Filipino McKinley Kyle Paz of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is coming home.

But not before scoring more championship points in Race 2 at the famous Circuito de Jerez in Spain, venue of the penultimate round of the 2021 championships.

He qualified in 12th on Saturday with a combined fastest lap of 1 min 44.252s and was 13th fastest in Sunday’s morning warm-up out of 26 riders.

He made a reasonably good start in Race 1 and maintained P15th for the whole race and moved up to P14 a few laps before the finish. Sadly, he didn’t managed to finish Race 1 and retired with 2 laps to go.

He did finish Race 2 a few hours later. After riding consistently in the points the whole race he crossed the line in P13 which was good for 3 more championship points.

Despite missing 3 races in the early part of the season, Moto2 rookie Paz has amassed a total of 18 points and is 16th in the standings out of 28 riders as the championships takes a long break before regrouping on November 21 for its final race.

“Jerez round is done. It was a very difficult race for me because of the very hot weather conditions but I still managed  to get P13 in the second race. Thank you very much to my team Yamaha VR46 Master Camp for always doing a great job in preparing my bike and for always teaching me how to ride this beautiful Moto2 beast. See you all in November guys and thank you to all Filipino fans who supported me,” shared Paz on his social media page.

The long break means that the 2018 FIM ARRC UB150 Champion will be able to fly home together with YMPH’s Jordan Cornista. They will now enjoy a much deserved break with their loved ones whom they have missed during his first European campaign.
