IR Nation heard the news that defending PSBK Marvin Mangulabnan (MM189 Motul KYT Alpinestars) had a heavy crash today, July 15, on board his S1000RR superbike while practicing at Clark International Speedway (CIS).

Information from fellow racers has reached us that he may have suffered a broken collarbone. If indeed this is true, then this can be a big blow to his championship defense for 2021.

Mangulabnan dramatically won the 4th and final race of the Pirelli Philippine Superbike (PSBK) opening quadruple header weekend during the Petron National Motorcycle Road Racing Championships (MORAC) held last month in June, also at the CIS .

Fortunately, he second 4-race weekend round of the PSBK was recently re-scheduled from August to first week of September. This gives Mangulabnan more time to heal and recover.

We are hoping he could be at least medically fit enough to compete for some important points to keep his defense alive.

Mangulabnan was set to compete in the first ever Motul MotoIR3 All-Star Race this Saturday in the 2021 MotoIR Championships. However, the crash has eliminated him to the dismay of the many fans who were excited to see him race small bikes again.

We hope and pray for his speedy recovery.
