Results from the first MotoGP Free Practice Session.
Franco Morbidelli of Petronas Yamaha SRT finished ahead of a revitalized Aprilia Team rider Aleix Espargaro and Ducati’s Jack Miller claiming 3rd fastest
Fabio Quartaro on the factory Yamaha came in next in 4th with Suzuki’s current World Champion Joan Mir in 5th.
Valentino Rossi, now 42 years old, started his 26th season in the World Championships in 9th place on his Petronas Yamaha SRT M1.
The fastest KTM was Miguel Oliviera in 10th and fastest Honda was Alex Marquez on his LCR Honda in 11th.
The fastest rookie was Luca Marini in 17th place ahead of Enea Bastianini in 18th
