This restored Honda Humming (NC 50) is owned by John Paolo Barcelona Platino from Tayabas, Quezon. The bike is restored by Elli Motoworks owned by Ervin Ellison Oates.

Ellison started modifying and fixing motorcycles as a hobby. When the pandemic started, he developed it into a business with all the time that was given to him, considering that his college offers online classes only. His friends saw that his builds were of good quality, so they decided to risk it and chose Ellison to custom-build and restore their bikes.

The Honda Humming project was hard but at the same time fulfilling for Elli Motoworks. The build took them almost a year from the day that it came to the shop to the day that they released it. Finding genuine parts for the Humming was one of the hardest yet most exciting part of building it because he gained new friends who share the same love of restoring and preserving old motorcycles.

“I started modifying/building motorcycles on the thought that my customers deserve quality, long-lasting, and eye-catching motorbikes. It brings me satisfaction and growth knowing that with each custom build, I am learning better and progressing,” said Ellison.

For his fellow builders, Ellison’s message is “Pursuing an expensive hobby is a little bit hard to maintain, and for us builders, we cannot always get the perfect result in one take. I hope we can be patient with ourselves and our progress, and trust that everything will fall into place with the right mindset, mentors, and with consistent motivation every single day.”

Elli Motoworks shop is currently working on two restoration-modification projects, a Yamaha Chappy LB80 and Honda Caren NX50. They are also on the lookout for a Yamaha L2, since that model was the first motorcycle owned by their family.

“I would like to thank my mentors who have been there for me since day one, providing me important lessons and acknowledging my ideas; my parents who have ignited this passion of mine since I was a kid; and my girlfriend who believed in me and provided motivation on the days that I lack. Lastly, I would like to thank God for giving me this passion as a way to provide,” shared Ellison.
