Senator Recto Urges Government to Allow Motorcycle Backriding of Couples
Date posted on June 12, 2020
“Government can ease the brutal transportation lack by allowing husband-and-wife to ride a motorcycle in tandem. If they share the same bed at night, why can’t they ride a bike together during the day?” said Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto on June 8.
The Senator reiterated that without a ride, there is no work. And no work, no pay. He also expressed that there are three important T’s today and these are tests, trabaho and transportasyon.
Senator Recto likewise suggested to let PUVs restart their engines to help restart the economy. The setting up of safe bike lanes and the mass distribution of bicycles to workers should also be done and accelerated according to the Senator. He urged for jeepneys and UVs to be allowed to ply the roads again and also have more buses for the public.
With work and business establishments allowed to open again, the people should have the means to go to their respective workplaces, explained the Senate President Pro Tempore.
