Together with the VOGE Philippines Management and media vlogger friends, the first ever VOGE owners Breakfast Ride to the scenic Lakeshore Resort in Balete, Batangas was held last March 13.

In early 2021, this new motorcycle brand, already popular in Europe and South America, gathered attention and a strong following within its target niche market. The affordable big bike segment has been steadily growing in the past years due to the wider acceptance of motorcycles as a leisure activity, specially now during the pandemic since it provides recreation  activities that complies with social distancing protocols.

Because if its price, equipment level, engine performance, proven durability, styling and quality, it took just less than a month before all the initial stocks of VOGE’s most popular model, the 500R, sold out.

“We did not expect the great response of the market to our brand, but we have made adjustments in our orders and we will have more than triple the number of new stocks arriving. It is a challenge for us because of the increasing global demand and at the same time  price adjustments from our supplier, and we believe that we are still offering the best value and quality for the money. We like to thank everyone for their patience,” said VOGE Philippines’ National Sales & Marketing Manager Mr. Arthur Ubaña, who organized and led the group on a 500DS during the ride.

More than 25 riders joined the ride limited in numbers to comply with protocols with as many as 20 new VOGE owners.

The first meet up at around 5:30 a.m. was in Caloocan for the first group that went on to ride to the second meet up point at at Petron SLEX at around 6:30 a.m. After some bantering and photos, we departed for Lakeshore at around 7:30 a.m.

We rode the whole South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) then Star Toll past Lipa and exited at Balete. The ride was in mixed conditions from dry to light rain which made some portions a bit slippery.

Thankfully, all the riders, including me, were confident in riding because it is during these conditions where VOGE’s Pirelli tires, Nissin brakes and BOSCH ABS features really come into play. With safety in mind, I had no reservations that the 500R I was on can be ridden like any other modern big bike.

Crusing between 100 kph to 120 kph was no problem as the engine felt strong and smooth. The stock exhaust note of the 500R is also amazing and pleasant with a deep bassy tone to it, unlike other stock paralled twins.

This dream was realized for the VOGE owners during the ride.

After the Balete exit, we re-grouped and started the short ride to the resort on narrow provincial roads with some short twisties, broken cements, and big potholes. The KYB suspension handled it well and the low seat height gave me confidence when suddenly stopping for traffic.

Once there, we had another group photo with our bikes before we all had breakfast on the serene Taal Lakeshore.

The 500R was the choice for many first big bike owners, both young and old alike.

“This is my first big bike. I moved up from an FZ150. This 500R is powerful and the handling is maganda! When I got it, nag-expressway po agad ako (big smile!). And today naman po ang first big bike group ride ko and masaya, ang dami pala namin! Gusto ko rin po ang porma at tunog ng 500R and sa tingin ko madaling i-maintain dahil laging andyan ang VOGE Philippines,” said 19-year-old VOGE 500R owner Syric Jester Sarno from Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Pat Panelo from Merville, Parañaque

“This 500R is my first big bike and this morning, was my first entry din sa expressway. I was both nervous and excited. Ang ganda ng experience ko! Hindi malilimutan! Yun ride may kasamang ambon pero ang sarap. Maganda ang power ng bike, very torquey, and walang vibration. Overall, the bike is amazing,” said Pat Panelo from Merville, Parañaque.

There were more pleasant and interesting VOGE owners during the ride that I was not able to talk to and for sure, are very passionate about the brand as well. You can tell it by the laughters and the bantering during the short but intimate bonding time.

“Thanks sir Art and VOGE Philippines for the accomodating breakfast ride..ang sarap ng ride lalo na pag family ang turingan sa lahat. Good work sir Art! More bikes sana ang dumating sa Pinas..and more rides pa na darating for the VOGE family,” said Rommel Ruiz from Quezon City.

After breakfast, we left at around 11 a.m. and most were home by 1 p.m.

“Masaya today! This event is to thank all the first VOGE owners who put their faith in our products. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat and we hope to organize more VOGE ride events in the future,” said VOGE Philippines’ Events and Marketing Manager Mr. Bobby Bayon.
