With Doblada’s victory in Carmona last July 13, Vee Rubber closed the gap to championship leader Bridgestone in the 2014 MotoIR Tire Championships. Vee Rubber took a strong 13 point haul compared to Bridgestone’s 8 pts. This has reduced the lead by just 9 points or the equivalent of one win. Bridgestone leads with 57 points. Previously Vee Rubber’s other rider Bryan Ortile won also in Carmona last May thus making the intermediate track a favorite for Vee Rubber. However, Bridgestone has been winning on the big tracks of Batangas Racing Circuit and at the upcoming Clark Speedway this Sunday Aug 3, so the Tire Championship is still unpredictable.

Meanwhile, defending MotoIR Tire Champion FDR is in third place and is looking for improved performance in the second half of the season now that their improved tires have arrived from Indonesia. FDR has also been hampered by crashes and rider injuries. With the wet races expected to be an advantage for FDR, it will have a big chance of recouping lost ground to the other two brands as the next three races will most likely be wet races.

The 9-race 2014 Shell Advance MotoIR Championship Presented by Honda is also supported by Racing Boy, FDR, Bridgestone and Vee Rubber. Now on its third season, the championship is organized by InsideRACING and sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooter Racing Association (USRA).
