Tanal Entertainment Sport & Media, has made an announcement via a press release.

“In 2022 the VR46 Team will debut in the MotoGP class together with Tanal Entertainment Sport & Media with Saudi Aramco, as the new Main Sponsor for the period 2022-2026,” said the press release.

Aramco is already involved with Formula One GP World Championships car racing and this team will be their entry to the MotoGP World Championships.

It also released a bike graphic concept based on a Yamaha M1.

However, it is not yet announced which manufacturer VR46 will partner with. While Yamaha is an option and preference, the current Petronas SRT relationship with Yamaha will make it complicated. Other options for the Aramco VR46 team are Aprilia and Suzuki.

Rossi won his first two world champioships riding an Aprilia in the 125GP in 1997 and 250GP in 1999 before moving on to Honda and Yamaha in the premier class. With the current upswing in form of the Aprilia bike so far this 2021, it might be a good option.

There is also a big possibility that Rossi himself will partner with his brother Luca Marini for 2022 season in his own MotoGP team before retiring.

This means well for Rossi fans because it means Rossi’s last campaign will hopefully be in front of packed grandstands as the global pandemic improves by 2022.
