A new single-cylinder naked motorcycle in India will be launched tomorrow August 27 over the internet by Honda Two Wheelers India, according to a popular Indian website Rushlane, based on a formal invite confirming its launch date.

It is anticipated to be the new Honda CB Hornet 200R. A week before, a teaser video was also released showing partial images of the new bike.

It will feature gold finished upside down front forks, a headlamp fairing, dual-tone front fender, fuel tank-mounted ignition, a sleeker digital instrument console and alloy wheels.

It will be powered by an air-cooled, single cylinder engine with an estimated displacement of around 200 cc. It will have electronic fuel injection and a 5-speed transmission.

Considering the basic specifications and the fact that it will be made in India to do battle in a highly populated segment, this new motorcycle will be aggressively priced.

Will Honda Philippines consider to bring this model here as a CBU to compete against the popular Rouser 200 and 200 Duke? It is one segment of the market where they currently do not have presence and would surely generate additional sales.

Both of these competitors also have Indian origins, so a Honda Hornet CB200 can be an attractive option for loyal Honda fans.

What do you think?

Let’s wait and see….
